Brief description and site requirements
Our furnace has been designed to minimise emissions of harmful agents and operate well below the most stringent environmental limits for lead & particulates. It is controlled by a mixture of manual and computerised systems with tight controls on temperature, electrical feed and inflow of glass.
The furnace site will need to be inside a building of a minimum 300m2 (3000ft2) with access to water, gas and electricity (3 phase 400 Amp). The eaves height should be 6m.
A pit will need to be dug to beneath the furnace location, which is a safety feature of the furnace design.
The area to house preparation, dismantling of monitors and televisions, glass washing, glass crushing and manufacture of new glass products will need to be 2000m2 with minimum eaves height of 4m.
